What should I wear to my headshot session?
It depends on the type of headshot you need, some clients want a classic shoulders-up shot, others need a full-body image for LinkedIn or their website, and wardrobe changes depending on which one you’re going for. When you book your $490 package, you’ll receive a comprehensive wardrobe guide by email, and we’ll talk briefly beforehand so I have a clear sense of what you’ll be wearing. We recommend solid colors that complement your skin tone and avoid busy patterns that distract from your face. Your package includes 2 outfit changes, so plan accordingly.
How long does a headshot session take?
Sessions typically run 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how many looks you need and whether you’re starting with hair and makeup from our beauty team. Our standard headshot session is 45 minutes total, including 2 outfit changes and image selection at the end.
Do you shoot actor headshots on Long Island?
Yes, actor headshots are a specialty at The BeVard Studio. We understand what the industry requires and we know how to draw out the personality and specificity that casting directors respond to. We work with actors at every level, from first headshot to seasoned performer, and we offer both theatrical and commercial looks in the same session.
Can you come to our office for team headshots?
Absolutely. We offer on-location corporate headshot sessions anywhere across Long Island. We bring professional lighting, seamless backgrounds, and full posing direction so your team gets polished, consistent headshots without anyone having to leave the office. We’ve done on-location sessions in Melville, Garden City, Hauppauge, and beyond.
How soon will I receive my photos?
It depends on what you need. If you’re just looking for a couple of standout shots, turnaround is as fast as 24 hours. For anything beyond that, a full set, multiple looks, or a larger collection, plan on 5-7 business days. Rush delivery is available if you have a deadline.
Do you offer headshots for LinkedIn specifically?
Yes, LinkedIn headshots are one of our most popular requests. We create images specifically designed for the platform: clean, approachable, and optimized for the small circular crop LinkedIn uses for profile photos. Many clients combine their LinkedIn headshot session with a mini personal branding session to walk away with content for their entire profile.
Can I get headshots at your studio or at my office?
Both. Most individual headshots are photographed at our studio at 52 Bernard Street in Farmingdale, NY. For teams and companies, we bring the studio to you and photograph headshots on-site at offices across Nassau and Suffolk County.
Do you work with people who are camera shy?
This is the most common thing we hear, and it is exactly what we are here for. The majority of our clients feel awkward in front of a camera before they arrive. By the end of the session, most of them say it was the most comfortable they have ever felt being photographed. Full direction, a relaxed environment, and a photographer who genuinely enjoys the process makes all the difference.
How much does a headshot session cost?
Our standard headshot package is $490 and includes a 45-minute session, 2 outfit changes, and 2 fully retouched images. Need more? Additional images are $250 each, or you can add a bundle of 10 for $1,200. We’ll walk you through all the options so you can pick what fits your needs.
Do you provide professional hair and makeup services?
Yes, professional hair and makeup is available as an add-on for headshot sessions. It’s not included in the standard $490 package, but many clients choose to add it for a more polished, camera-ready look. Ask about pricing when you book.
How do you ensure I look like “myself” while still being polished?
This is the balance I care about most. My approach isn’t about transforming you into someone else. It’s about drawing out the version of you that already exists on your best day. Through posing direction, lighting, and expression coaching, we polish the presentation without losing what makes you you. Most clients tell me their headshot doesn’t feel like “a photo of me trying to look professional”. It feels like them, just captured well.
Do you offer passport or visa photos?
We don’t offer passport or visa photos. Government passport agencies use strict biometric scanning software, and if the shadow, cropping, or paper type is even a millimeter off, the whole application gets rejected. Because of those hyper-specific regulations, independent photographers typically don’t offer them. Your best and most affordable option is a local pharmacy or shipping store, CVS, Walgreens, or UPS, since they use specialized machines built specifically to meet those exact government requirements.
